Brief outlines of reports
1. Larysa Haliy, PharmD, PhD, Professor, Director of the Institute for Continuing Education of Specialists of the National University of Pharmacy
Postgraduate education is a system which provides for the acquisition of new qualifications, a new specialization and a profession on the basis of previously acquired education and practical work in the educational establishment, and the deepening of professional knowledge and skills in the field of specialization and occupation. Carried out by institutions of postgraduate education on the basis of a contract with enterprises, institutions, organizations and individuals with the conclusion of a State contract (order).
The aim of postgraduate pharmacy education is to improve the professional knowledge and skills to be acquired by specialists on the basis of the model of pharmacist and pharmacy technician, and in accordance with the professional and job requirements to various specialists of pharmacy enterprises, positions and qualification categories of pharmaceutical personnel.
2. Serhiy Hornytskyi, Commercial Director of “Pharmastore” pharmacy network
It is obvious that today the pharmacy is not only a place where medicines can be purchased. The assortment of modern pharmacies is expanded with medical goods, medical cosmetics, children’s food and accessories, items for a comfortable and healthy life, other products for health and beauty, even literature and souvenirs. The pharmacy clients have changed too. Nowadays, these are better informed people who are interested in disease prevention, aspire to a healthy lifestyle and active longevity, and study thoroughly the properties of medical and pharmaceutical products.
3. Andriy Zvolskyi, Head of the Training Department of “Podorozhnyk” pharmacy network
The global trend is that expectations about pharmacists themselves are changing. Today, pharmacy clients tend to see not just a competent specialist, but a professional with a correct, responsive and attentive attitude to their needs and requests. I think most people who walk into a pharmacy do not identify their condition with that of a sick person or a patient who needs medical attention. Rather, on the contrary, it is actually a client with an increasing need for personal attention to him (her), with the expectation of proper pharmaceutical care and a high level of service in general.
4. Yulia Kuzmenko, HR Director of “Apteka Nyzkykh Tsin” (Discount Pharmacy) pharmacy network
Motivation is the process of motivating staff to work effectively in an organization. Motivation is related to the condition of the person, which determines the degree of activity of the employee and the direction of his/her actions in a specific situation. In view of the fact that motivations are internal and external, as well as positive and negative, the head of the organization should make effective use of available incentives, remuneration system and the like. Thus, a positive external motivation for an employee to perform even better in an organization is the Success Award; a positive internal motivation is commitment, content and creativity.
5. Kateryna Hashynova, MD, PhD, Professor, Head of the Department of Occupational Diseases and Clinical Immunology, Dnipro State Medical University
The delivery of drugs is defined as the combination of methods, technologies and techniques for modifying the physico-chemical, pharmacological and pharmaceutical properties of medicines in order to improve their effectiveness and safety. This is one of the most intensely researched industries in the world today. Among these studies, the development of medicinal forms using nanotechnology is of particular importance. Traditional pharmaceutical formulations may not be suitable for the delivery of biologically active substances such as nucleic acids or proteins. Nanoparticles can optimize efficiency, minimize side effects and improve compliance.
6. Serhiy Zaikov, Professor of the Phthisiology and Pulmonology Department, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, the President of the Association of Anaesthetists of Ukraine, Kyiv
Patients report that allergic rhinitis is as debilitating as severe bronchial asthma. In the case of children, chronic nasal breathing disorders affect not only their cognitive activity, school success and productivity, but can also lead to a range of complications over time. In addition, in the absence of adequate treatment for AR, there is an increased risk of formation or exacerbation of concomitant bronchial asthma. Improving the quality of life of patients with AR is one of the important approaches in the treatment of patients with this pathology. This is why a new breathering procedure as a method of elimination therapy can improve the quality of life of patients with allergic rhinitis.
7. Mykola Khaitovych, MD, PhD, Professor, Head of Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Formation Department of the NMU
Strong immunity is the key to good health. By raising it, you can halve the number of cold and infectious diseases. The way of life is important in health support: abandonment of unhealthy habits, physical activity, balanced nutrition. Everyone knows that it’s easier to prevent than to cure. But few people actually do prevention. Care must be taken not to become a target of more serious illnesses. There’s a reason the doctors are demanding that we do fluorography at least once a year, that women get a gynecologist. Some dangerous diseases are much easier to treat if detected early.
8. Oleksandr Halushko, MD, PhD, Professor, Anesthesiologist, Professor of the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine
It is quite difficult for many people to return to their normal lives after COVID-19. Although most of them are quite mild, this does not mean that you are the one who can avoid the difficult course of the disease. It is impossible to know in advance how a particular person will get sick. Only vaccination helps to reduce the risks of getting into a hospital and losing health, or even life, as a result of COVID-19. At the same time those who had mild or asymptomatic form of coronaviral disease may have so-called “Post-COVID syndrome” or become “Long haulers”).
9. Olena Koloskova, MD, PhD, Professor, Head of Pediatrics and Infectious Child Diseases Department of the Bykovyna State Medical University
Respiration is one of the most important functions in the human body, and respiratory diseases continue to dominate the structure of morbidity and mortality of the world’s population, which leads to the relevance of an in-depth study of this issue and the pooling of efforts of specialists from different sectors in the search for new solutions in the treatment of respiratory pathology. Cytoprotectors are preparations that protect the mucous membrane and stabilize its protective properties by enhancing its own protective factors. Current scientific evidence supports the prevention of cellular stress in the airway with Ectoin.
10. Maria Shcherbak, PhD in medicine, Senior Researcher of Sexology and Andrology Department of SE “Institute of Urology of NAMS of Ukraine”, obstetrics and gynecology doctor, sexual health specialist
Women’s health concerns the health of women and girls, and differs from that of men in many unique ways. Gynecology is an area of medical science and practice designed to help the beautiful half of mankind remain healthy, full of energy and capable of successfully realizing social and biological function.
