October 16 – the second master class "The Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease: The Pathway from Family Doctor to Nephrologist"

On October 16, 2024, Master Class №2 "The Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease: The Pathway from Family Doctor to Nephrologist" will take place as part of the NephroCare Learn educational project.

NephroCare Learn Project

NephroCare Learn is an educational project featuring master classes where leading Ukrainian specialists in nephrology and therapy present modern approaches to managing chronic kidney disease (CKD) and share expert strategies for treating this condition. The project aims to unite the knowledge, skills, and efforts of family doctors and nephrologists, fostering the exchange of experience and the implementation of best practices in the treatment of kidney diseases.

Global Context of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD):

CKD is an undeniably progressive condition that affects more than 10% of the global population, with over 800 million patients worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that CKD will become the fifth most common chronic disease by 2040. The number of patients receiving treatment through kidney replacement therapy is growing faster than the global population. Over the last 10 years, the number of patients worldwide undergoing dialysis has increased by 70%.

Master Class №1

The first master class, held on September 4, 2024, was dedicated to understanding CKD in a global context, classification, evaluation of kidney function, and risk factors.
