ABOUT THE PROBLEM

🌍 More than 850 million people worldwide suffer from chronic kidney diseases, which is ten times the number of diabetes patients.

🌍 The number of patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT) is growing faster than the global population. Over the past 10 years, the number of patients on dialysis worldwide has increased by 70%.

📢 It is anticipated that by 2030, the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy will rise to 5.4 million worldwide due to increased life expectancy and the spread of risk factors like diabetes and hypertension.

📢 Treatment of patients using RRT accounts for around 2-3% of total healthcare costs, even though such patients represent less than 1% of the population.

📚 These statistics highlight the importance of further developing and expanding access to RRT and raising awareness of preventive measures and early detection of chronic kidney diseases.
