Teleconference "Pandemic Consequences: Long COVID. The Tragedy of "Long-haulers"
The scars left behind by the COVID-19 pandemic will take a long time to heal. A feature of the insidious virus is that it can persist in the body even after a disease, further depleting its host. A clear example of this is Long-COVID patients, or long-haulers, who never returned to their original state of health and continue to suffer for a long time with no hope of improvement.
Almost 7 000 health care specialists have registered to participate in Teleconference “Pandemic Consequences: the Tragedy of “Long-haulers” whish was held on June 17, 2021.
Interdisciplinary format of the Teleconference was assured by speakers from different special fields: anesthesiologists, neurologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, infectious disease specialists, family doctors, pulmonary specialists, and allergologists.
Eleven main reports were offered to the participants for review and discussion and they were dealing with the following issues:
