🌍The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the shortcomings of modern approaches to recommendations for the treatment of respiratory infections. Lack of research, protocols, and conflicting views on therapy led to erroneous initial recommendations that cost many patients their lives.

📲According to the Center for Public Health, the past epidemic season was relatively mild. However, in the West and in the Center, the incidence rate was higher than the economic threshold, which may be related to internal population migration. The lion's share in the structure of morbidity was made up of children (under the age of 17).

In preparation for the epidemic season of 2023-2024, we propose to put a comma together in the sentence "SARS: treatment should not wait"❗ 

🔜 On September 14 as part of the teleconference "Treat respiratory diseases respiratoryly. SARS: you can't wait to treat" leading specialists in the medical field of Ukraine have been talking about the patterns of development of the infectious process and the principles of treatment of SARS:

• 🌡️ The importance of early treatment of infectious diseases.
• 🦠 Strategies to reduce viral load.
• 🫁 Choice of rational tactics of mucolytic therapy.
• 🏥 Prevention of the development of secondary infection.
• 👃 Antiseptic therapy for diseases of the ENT organs.

📍Our goal is to prepare for the season of respiratory infections by providing quality and timely medical care to patients.

Almost 6 000 health care specialists have registered to participate in the master class.

Within the framework of the event, leading experts and practitioners in the field of infectious diseases, allergy, pulmonology, otolaryngology, pediatrics and pharmacology shared their expert opinions and experience of leading patients with respiratory tract infections, bronchial asthma, COPD and chronic bronchitis.

Particular attention was paid to the use of early treatment for respiratory infections, particularly to the high viral load which is a risk factor for the development of complications. Recent evidence was provided to support the benefits of early ARI treatment. And it identifies strategies to reduce viral load, which are aimed at:

• Reducing the risk of developing secondary infection.
• Reducing the need for antibiotics which is critically important taking into account the rapid growth of antibiotic resistance in the world.
